TOTE Tasmania Pty Ltd is a State-owned company with its shares being held by the Treasurer of the State of Tasmania and the Minister for Infrastructure in trust for the Crown in right of Tasmania.
The Company has an exclusive right to conduct pari-mutuel (totalizator) wagering in the State of Tasmania (Pari-mutuel wagering is a type of betting whereby all bets from a number of customers from one or more betting agencies are consolidated (pooled) together and a statutory deduction is taken out and retained by the betting agencies with the remaining funds paid out to the winning ticket holders).
TOTE Tasmania Pty Ltd is a leader in the leisure and entertainment industry and markets under its retail brand The TOTE pari-mutuel or pool based products on thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing as well as sport and fixed odds products including “Triwin” and sportsbetting to its customers. This is done via a variety of channels, including the telephone, internet, on-course and through a network of almost 120 hotel and retail outlets throughout Tasmania.

TOPBoard of Directors
Directors are appointed having regard to their business skills and the need for diversity on the Board. TOTE Tasmania’s directors are required to have completed, or undertake, the Company Director’s Course offered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Each director holds the same offices for both TOTE Tasmania Pty Ltd and Tas Radio Pty Ltd.

Well known Tasmanian businessman. Chairman of the Board and Remuneration Committee, Michael is also chairman of the Statewide Independent Wholesalers' and holds directorships with a number of other commercial and not for profit organisations.

Hobart businessman with extensive interests in the optical industry. A director of the former Totalizator Agency Board, William is currently Chairman of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and Director of a number of private companies and not for profit organisations.

Mr D (Darren) Pettiona
Melbourne businessman who is the Executive Director of a financial services organisation. Darren has held several directorships in information technology companies and holds a non-executive role with Findlay & Co. Stockbrokers Ltd. Current Chairman of the IT Sub Committee. |

- Observation of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Code of Conduct.
- Annual review and approval of a rolling 3 year corporate plan.
- Approval of management’s annual business plan.
- Regular monitoring of management’s performance against approved plans.
- Annual reviews of succession planning and management development programs.
- Annual review of the charter of the Remuneration Committee, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and IT Sub Committee.

The shareholders appoint the Company’s directors according to the provisions of the Company’s Constitution and the Corporations Act 2001. The shareholders guide the strategic direction of the Company through a statement of expectations which they provide to the directors.
